ABOUT US
We are a family of 4 (including 2 children) living in Leicestershire, close to the Leicestershire/Warwickshire border, UK. We currently have 2 Golden Retrievers here at the Sualza Kennel - Lily (Olivia Beatrice) and Megan (Hardyllic Sadie). We have only ever owned Golden Retrievers and the breed has been in our family for over 35 years. Our dogs are our treasured pets and are very much part of the family. We share our house, holidays and everything else with them. They get plenty of exercise as they like nothing better than to dig holes, frolic around in our large garden and do some road walking and training each day. Our dogs are well adjusted to all the noise and hustle
and bustle that family life brings and are socialised with adults, children and our other pets
daily. We do not show our dogs. We take the welfare of all our dogs very seriously and abide by the General Code of Ethics as laid down by The Kennel Club and The Golden Retriever Club. We are dedicated owners/hobby breeders and produce the occasional litter usually when we want to keep a puppy for ourselves. We do everything in our power to produce healthy, well adjusted puppies. Our breeding stock (including the stud dogs we use) are hip scored under the KC/BVA scheme and eye tested under the KC/BVA/ISDS scheme. The stud dogs we use are chosen with care, so that they complement our bitches. Of course, temperament is just as important as health results and we would not breed from dogs if their temperaments were not excellent. Our goldens all have excellent temperaments, something which is of paramount importance to a family like ours. Lily's temperament and behaviour have been strictly tested by 'Pets As Therapy'. Due to her success, Lily became a fully registered PAT dog in December 2006. She visits a local Private Retirement Home, in order to bring companionship and comfort to residents. With Lily's calm and gentle nature, she is an excellent PAT dog. Our dogs are Kennel Club registered.
